Mrs. Mary Daisy Smith, age 80 years, of Hillsboro, died in the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital at 5:00 o’clock Sunday
morning, May 1, 1960, after a long illness. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, at Hillsboro, and a
member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 93. Mrs. Smith was born at Mill Point, on October 20, 1879, the
daughter of the late Millard F. and Eliza Jane Smith Ruckman.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Marvin C. Smith, of Hillsboro; two sons, Glen S. Smith, of Millpoint; and Joe F. Smith,
of Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. W. Keith Sebert, of Lewisburg; five brothers, Rev. Lee V. Ruckman of Ford, Virginia; Charles
W. Ruckman, of Spokane, Washington; Ernest P. Ruckman, of Arvada, Colorado; Denny F. Ruckman, of Hillsboro, and
William O. Ruckman, of Mill Point.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church with the
Rev. L. E. Milem and the Rev. John I. Prather in charge. Burial was made in Mountain View Cemetery, in Marlinton.
