Richard Callison-Died May 19, 1946

Needing a small angel in heaven, the wisdom of God prompted Him to select little Richard Callison early Sunday morning, May 19, 1946. Richard, son of the late Elba Callison and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Callison, died at the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. He would have been ten years old in June. A brother, Samuel Callison, also survives. Richard Callison was a sweet boy, known and loved through the whole town, where he assisted his brother Samuel in carrying daily newspapers. He death brought deep sorrow to many homes.

Legend has it that this recipe for salt-rising bread has been in the Ruckman family since the late 1700s.  Perhaps that is a rural legend, but nonetheless the Ruckman Reunion was honored every year with a batch of this.  Anyone...

am happy to announce that I am now working as an environmental geologist for URS Corporation, the United State's largest engineering and environmental firm. Scholarship Committee Meeting 2015

The Scholarship Committee met at the Hampton Inn in Lewisburg, WV at 3:00 PM. In attendance were Franklin Ruckman, Vickie Dove, Betty Neal, Robert Henry and Diane DiPaolo. Franklin opened the meeting with a review of last year’s applicants for the Scholarship Fund. Then he went on to discuss the Edward Jones account. He explained that the fund recently received 501C(3) approval. This would make the donations tax deductible. Another change was to combine the four accounts into one account thus making it a little easier to work with.
