Mrs. Carlton H. (Kathleen Gum) Robbins, formerly of Smoot, and Salem, Virginia, and residing in a nursing home in
Maryland, passed away, Friday, June 25, 2004.
Kathleen was the eldest child and daughter of the late Charles Emery and Rachel Ruckman Gum. Her husband, Carlton
Robbins, preceded her in death.
She is survived by seven children: Joan Whelan of Maryland; Warren Robbins of Roanoke, Virginia; Carlton Robbins, II,
of Coos Bay, Oregon; Keith Robbins of Las Vegas, Nevada; Karen Crownover, of Maryland; Lynn Cochran of Roanoke,
Virginia; and Terry Robbins of Aiken, South Carolina.
Also surviving are a sister, Ruth Ruckman, of Selma, North Carolina, and three brothers, Wallace Gum, of Oak Hill; Alfred
R. Gum, of Buckeye; and Max Gum, of Buckeye.
Memorial services are set for Sunday, July 4, at 4 p.m. at Soule Chapel Methodist Church, Meadow Bluff.
