Dr. Marvin C. Smith, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, June 20, 1966, at Weston State Hospital, after a long illness.
He was born at Mill Point, September 2, 1877, a son of the late Joseph S. Smith and Abigail Curry Smith. Mr. Smith was
united in marriage to Mary Daisy Ruckman, October, 1901, who preceded him in death.
He was a practicing veterinarian in Pocahontas, Greenbrier and Virginia for fifty-seven years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Elizabeth) Sebert, of Lewisburg; two sons, Joe Smith, of Hillsboro, and Glenn
Smith, of Mill Point; one sister, Mrs. Emma Auldridge, of Hillsboro; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and
several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church at Hillsboro by the Rev. Victor
Tenney. Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
