Samuel Glenn Smith, age 92, of Mill Point, died Tuesday, February 6, 1996, at Pocohontas Memorial Hospital. He had
been a resident of Pocahontas Continuous Care for the past two years.
Mr. Smith was a life-long breeder of horses, veterinarian and farmer, and his market bulletin ads were known all over
West Virginia. He was a member of Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church.
Born at Marvin Chapel community near Mill Point, on October 28, 1903, he was the eldest son of Marvin Coe Smith and
Mary Daisy Ruckman Smith.
He was preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Goldie Irene McNeill Smith, and a brother, Joseph F. Smith, Sr.
Surviving him are two daughters, Glenda Sharp, of Key West, Florida, and Mary Etta Bennett, of Martinsburg, and a
granddaughter, Gina Michele Miller, also of Martinsburg; and a sister, Elizabeth Callison Sebert, of Lewisburg.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Roy Gwinn and Pastor
Jack Burks. Burial was in the Ruckman Cemetery near Mill Point.
