He had been confined to his bed for two and one half years, but he bore his suffering with exemplary patience.
On October 2, 1890 he was united in marriage to Ollie Agnes Sutton, who preceded him to the grave on August 29, 1919.
To this union six children were born, one of who died in infancy. Of those coming to adulthood, Samuel Neil, died

and Mrs Clarence Phillips, of Frank, and five grandchildren.
Of his fathers family there remains one brother, J.R. Ruckman, of Mill Point. He is also survived by the following half
brothers and sisters, George Scales and Mrs J.W. Taylor, of Pullman, Washington; and Mrs. E.H. Patterson and Mrs B.B.
Bartlett, of Marlinton, and a host of other relatives. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and took a special
interest ini the service of song.
Mr. Ruckman spent his entire life in Pocahontas county, the greater part living near Greenbank. The past three and one
half years he had made his home with his two daughters at Frank.
The funeral was conducted from the Arbovale M.E. Church, Thursday afternoon by Rev Frank McCom, pastor of the M.E.
Church at Durbin, after which he was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Arbovale cemetery. The pall bearers were
his nephews, L.V., Dennie and W.O. Ruckman, Robert Patterson, Bruce and Charles Gum.
