Mrs. Clarice Atkinson Ruckman, 67, died unexpectedly at her home in Norfolk, Va., December 9, 1950 . surviving are her
husband, Rev. L. V. Ruckman, a daughter, Mrs. J. T. shepherd, of Buena Visa, Va., one son Rev. L. V. Ruckman, Jr., of
Herndon, Va., two brothers, F. F. Atkinson, of White Sulpher Springs, and K. A. Atkinson, of Huntington; six sisters, Mrs.
E. C. Duncan, Mrs. E. C. Curry, Mrs. Jessie Jones, and Mrs. D. A. Curry, all of White Sulpher Springs; Mrs. Dora Easterly,
of Morgantown; and Mrs. Willard Bryant, of Newport News, Va., and two grandchildren.
Services were held on December 11 in the Oaklette Methodist Church in Norfolk, Va. The body was then shipped to White
Sulpher Springs, where the Shanklin Mortuary took charge. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. December 12
at the Hillcrest cemetery by Rev. Alvin C. Young, assisted by Rev. Craig Eder and Rev. C. D. Denham. Pallbearers were
L. L. Surber, O. V. Bowling, J. H. Bowling, George N. White, William Perry and W. T. Morgan.
Those attending the services at White Sulphur Springs from Pocahontas County were Mrs. Elizabeth Callison, Mrs. Katie
Atkinson and daughter, Katherine; Mrs. A. M. Smith, Mrs. W. O. Ruckman, Mrs. M. C. Smith and Joe Smith.
